AT&T to sell data center.

AT&T announced recently that its 305,000-square-foot data center in southeastern Massachusetts is immediately available for purchase. The facility is located in Fairhaven, Massachusetts and was constructed and, until recently, occupied by AT&T, the communications giant.

In a related announcement, AT&T named Boston-based Meredith & Grew, Incorporated as exclusive sales agent for the center. Kate McKee and David L. Pergola of Meredith & Grew will oversee all marketing and sales activities for the property.

The two-story building is situated on approximately 30 acres. To the west, Providence is approximately 30 minutes away, and Boston and Logan Airport are less than an hour to the north. The data center includes 119,000 square feet of raised computer flooring and a 65,000-square-foot office wing.

The facility's mechanical, electrical and security systems are state-of-the-art, with a command center controlling a vast network of completely uninterrupted service. Eight turbine emergency engines generate enough emergency power to run the entire facility for up to four days. The HVAC system is completely redundant, and exceeds current requirements for building load. The facility also provides an uninterrupted power service (UPS) with output power of 5,400 KVA.

There is also an extensive security and surveillance network, with computerized monitoring of all building functions and a card key access system.
