AT&T support center to employ 189 in LR.


AT&T Inc. has opened a $7 million customer support center that will employ 189 workers and managers in Little Rock.

The center, which is in AT&T's state headquarters, is one of seven centers in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  and will provide technical support to AT&T's high-speed Internet See broadband.  customers in 13 states.

AT&T said the opening of the center is part of a move by the company to bring 5,000 jobs that are now overseas back to the U.S.
