"This combined effort will provide advanced communications to an event that is just tremendous in scope," said Greg Pollack, sports and special events marketing director, for AT&T Global Business Communications Systems.

I.M. Pei, renowned architect and designer of the $84 million building, will hold a press conference Thursday, Aug. 31 for about 500 reporters. Because of seating limitations at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Theater, Pei will communicate to an overflow group of reporters at the Naval Reserve Center via the AT&T VISTIUM(R) Personal Video System. The VISTIUM desktop videoconferencing system is part of AT&T GBCS's Visual Solutions family, which also includes Group Video Systems and Multipoint Control Units, for connecting up to 12 sites in a single video call.

"Just as rock and roll is enhanced by seeing as well as hearing," says Pollack, "a phone call can truly be enhanced by video for greater clarity and understanding."

In addition, AT&T is providing communications to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame officials participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 1. Officials will be able to communicate via the AT&T TransTalk(TM) Digital Wireless System to allow them to "walk and work," relaying messages to participants in the Command Center as well as to other parts of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame complex.
