AT&T WorldNet Service offers enhanced access to America Online from the web.


BRIDGEWATER, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 26, 1996--AT&T today announced that America Online See AOL.  is now, for the first time, available on the web through AT&T WorldNet(sm) Service. America Online, the world's most popular consumer online service, can now be accessed through AT&T WorldNet Service at 20% lower than its standard dial-up access hot Dial-up access is a form of Internet access via telephone line. The client uses a modem connected to a computer and a telephone line to dial into an Internet service provider's (ISP) node to establish a modem-to-modem link, which is then routed to the Internet.  rate.

America Online provides a variety of services, including e-mail, online communities, chat, compelling content and original programming for interactive communities. AT&T WorldNet Service provides value-added access to the Internet, including access to online service providers such as America Online.

Two AOL price plans are available to customers who wish to access AOL through AT&T WorldNet Service: $7.95 per month for five hours plus $2.35 for each additional hour, or $15.95 per month for 20 hours plus $2.35 for each additional hour. Customers will receive billing for their AT&T WorldNet Service and AOL accounts separately with charges for both services applicable to AOL sessions conducted through AT&T WorldNet. America Online will provide a customer support team specially dedicated to AT&T WorldNet customers for technical, billing and registration assistance at 1-800-297-1392.

AT&T WorldNet Service, with more than 300,000 customers, offers a revolutionary pricing structure. Under AT&T's trial offer, AT&T long distance customers who sign up for AT&T WorldNet Service in 1996 have the first five hours of access to the Internet free each month for the first year. Customers pay $2.50 for each hour beyond the first five hours each month. Under a separate plan, AT&T customers may opt for a flat monthly rate of $19.95 for unlimited access.

AT&T WorldNet Service provides quick and easy access to information and people on the Internet.
