AT&T WorldNet Service launches personal web page publishing.


BRIDGEWATER, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 1997--AT&T WorldNet(SM) Service today announced it is providing its more than 900,000 subscribers with resources for creating, editing and publishing personal Web pages on the Internet. These resources include powerful, yet easy-to-use tools for all skill levels and online technical support.

Customers will have a choice of a two- or five-megabyte page, with a free two-megabyte page available to all subscribers during an initial promotional period ending this summer. Following this promotional period, pages of two megabytes will be available for $1.95 a month and pages of five megabytes will be available for $4.95 a month. There also are pricing incentives for AT&T Long Distance customers and for customers on the AT&T WorldNet Service pricing plan for unlimited access at $19.95 a month.

Web page creators on AT&T WorldNet Service now have access to Web page publishing tools that offer ease of use for beginners while enabling intermediate and skilled Web publishers to use more advanced capabilities. To come up with the right tools and other features required by personal Web page users, AT&T WorldNet Service conducted extensive studies. AT&T WorldNet Service customers who also are AT&T Long Distance customers and are either participating in or upgrade from an hourly plan to the $19.95 a month unlimited access pricing plan as of September 30, will receive a free, two-megabyte personal Web page for the remainder of 1997.

As previously announced, in order to maintain reliable, unlimited access at a fixed monthly price, AT&T WorldNet Service charges separately for features like personal Web pages, which are requested and used by a segment of its subscribers.
