AT&T Wireless Names Andre Dahan, President and CEO of New Mobile Multimedia Services Subsidiary.

: AWE) today announced that Andre Dahan has been named president and chief executive officer of its new Mobile Multimedia Services subsidiary. As announced last November, AT&T Wireless and NTT DoCoMo (NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc., Japan) Founded in 1991, NTT DoCoMo is a spinoff of Japan's NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) which provides wireless services, including cellular, paging, satellite and maritime and in-flight telephone services.  are working together to develop the next generation of advanced multimedia services.

The AT&T Wireless wholly-owned subsidiary is developing leading-edge multimedia applications for its current digital network as well as for a new, high-speed wireless network built to global standards for "third generation" (3G) services such as graphic presentation of data, video email, high quality music downloads, and streaming audio A one-way audio transmission over a data network. It is widely used on the Web as well as company networks to play audio clips and Internet radio. Computers in home networks stream audio (mostly music) to digital media hubs connected to home theaters.  and video. Both companies are sharing technical resources and support staffing for the new subsidiary, which is based in Redmond, Washington Redmond is a city in King County, Washington, USA. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Seattle urban area, in what is known as the Eastside. In 2003 the Census Bureau estimated the city population was 46,391. .

Dahan will begin his new position on July 2 and have responsibility for leading all aspects of the business including research and development, operations, finance, sales and marketing. Most recently, Dahan held several senior executive positions with The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation - the world's leading provider of business-to-business credit, marketing and purchasing information. He was president of Dun & Bradstreet North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. , senior vice president and head of electronic commerce, and president and founder of eccelerate.com, a Dun & Bradstreet e-commerce venture based in Silicon Valley.

Dahan has more than 28 years of leadership experience in the information technology sector. He began his career as a database architect with the Israeli government and held a variety of technical positions with IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  and S.E. Qual, an information technology-consulting firm. Dahan later served as vice president of sales and marketing at Teradata. In 1991, Teradata was acquired by AT&T Global Information Solutions (now NCR (NCR Corporation, Dayton, OH, www.ncr.com) A technology company specializing in financial terminal transactions, retail systems and data warehousing. Until the late 1990s, NCR was heavily invested in the hardware side of the industry, known worldwide as a major manufacturer of computers ) and Dahan served as vice president of worldwide marketing. Prior to joining Dun & Bradstreet in 1997, Dahan served as senior vice president of worldwide operations for Sequent Computer Systems in Portland, Oregon.

Dahan earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Jerusalem Institute of Technology.
