AT&T Wireless, Southeast region, chooses Tricord PowerFrame Enterprise Servers for data warehousing, remote access applications.


PLYMOUTH, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 1996--The Southeast region of AT&T Wireless Services has purchased 19 high-performance Tricord PowerFrame Enterprise Servers to run a wide range of business-critical applications ranging from data warehousing See data warehouse.

The Tricord servers will consolidate all AT&T Wireless' Southeast operations in a seamless Windows NT environment, improve performance and reliability, and centralize system management, reducing maintenance costs.

David Farber, vice president, information services See Information Systems.  for the Southeast region, is using the PowerFrame servers to achieve true computer-telephone integration, a move the division of AT&T Wireless expects will increase company productivity and improve customer service. Sales personnel will be able to finalize commercial account activations and credit checks on the road, for instance, improving customer responsiveness.

Each Tricord server is scalable in terms of both storage and CPUs so the system can easily keep pace with AT&T's aggressive growth plans.
