AT&T WINS PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CONTRACT.


PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 1995--AT&T today announced it has won a 3-year, $10 million contract to provide long-distance long-dis·tance

With the addition of this contract, AT&T provides long-distance service at public phones in 21 of the top 25 airports in the United States List of airports in the United States, grouped by state or territory and sorted by city.

, also served by AT&T, are among the top 25 airports in the country.

Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide 24- hour operator services A variety of telephone services that require human intervention, including person-to-person calls, collect calls, credit card billing and directory and dialing assistance. Such services are performed by LECs, IXCs and alternative operator services (AOS), organizations that are used by  for calling card, person-to-person, billed-to-third number and collect calls from all public phones at the airport. The contract was awarded by the City of Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Airport.

"Now travelers can make AT&T long-distance calls by dialing zero, the area code and telephone number from public phones at the Philadelphia International Airport. Of course, travelers can always be sure of reaching AT&T from any public phone they use by dialing 1-800-CALL-ATT," said John Powell, AT&T's consumer sales division vice president.

Travelers can use their preferred method of payment to charge calls, including charging calls to a calling card and most major credit cards. In addition, they can access services such as AT&T True Messages(sm) , which allows travelers to leave a message after they encounter a busy signal, no answer or wish to specify a delivery time; and AT&T WorldPlus Communication Service (sm) which provides 24-hour access to global calling, voice and fax messaging, and language interpretation and information services See Information Systems. .
