AT&T WINS $81 MILLION PHILIPPINES CONTRACT TO SUPPLY DIGITAL TELEPHONE NETWORK.


MANILA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 1995--Philippines telecommunications firm Globe Telecom awarded AT&T an $81.6 million contract to supply a digital local network that will significantly increase the number of telephone lines in the country.

AT&T will supply digital toll electronic switches, outside plant systems and fiber optic and copper cable for more than 106,000 new lines in the Philippines' network. Currently, there are about 1.3 million telephone lines in the country.
