AT&T Secures New Data Services Contract with Guthrie Public Schools; Networking Services Enable VoIP Communications for Oklahoma School District.

: T) today announced a new contract with Guthrie Public Schools, a public school district consisting of six schools and more than 3,000 students, located in Guthrie, Okla. According to according to

Under the terms of the contract, AT&T companies will integrate new data products and services, providing Guthrie Public Schools with a stable communications platform capable of supporting both Voice over Internet Protocol See Internet and TCP/IP.

(networking) Internet Protocol - (IP) The network layer for the TCP/IP protocol suite widely used on Ethernet networks, defined in STD 5, RFC 791. IP is a connectionless, best-effort packet switching protocol.
 (VoIP) and high speed Internet connectivity. The new data products and services will enable the district to deliver unmatched levels of stability and productivity through the enhancement of the platform's converged infrastructure.

With deployment at all six district schools, Guthrie Public Schools will dramatically increase the dependability of its network, providing a stable base to accommodate immediate needs and flexibility for future growth and expansion. Together, these new services will fulfill the district's critical need for upgraded products and services, allowing it to offer distance-learning programs and to sustain network architecture capable of supporting current VoIP applications and bandwidth-intensive applications, such as online testing.
