 AT&T RESPONSE TO CWA STATEMENT
 We are encouraged that talks with the unions continued until late


tonight.
 This evening we enhanced our earlier proposals to the union leadership, including an improved wage offer.
 The career security programs already in place in AT&T are as comprehensive as any in U.S. industry. Our offer to the unions include improvements in those programs.
