AT&T NAMES OFFICER TEAM TO LEAD MIDWEST OPERATIONS.


the appointment of a Chicago-based, five-member executive team to direct the company's operations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The announcement comes in the wake of landmark telecommunications legislation that eliminated service barriers in the local telephone market. The team will draw upon its diverse 130 years of combined telecommunications experience to manage the company's entry into local service while maintaining operations in long-distance and business communications services.

AT&T has named the following officers to lead central states' activities:

Bill Ketchum, AT&T president, central states, will direct all consumer and mass marketing activities for local and long-distance services.
