AT&T LANDS $215 MILLION CONTRACT WITH DELTA AIR LINES

ATLANTA, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T (NYSE: T) has landed a new $215 million contract with Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) to provide and manage voice and data services for the company's domestic business and some international locations.
Part of this five-year agreement includes AT&T 800 numbers and advanced features that will allow Delta Air Lines to handle calls faster and more efficiently at reservations centers.
This agreement modifies and extends a 1990 contract between AT&T and Delta for AT&T's Virtual Telecommunications Network Service (VTNS). Under the new VTNS contract, AT&T will continue to manage the airline company's worldwide voice and data network through the AT&T ACCUMASTER(R) Management Services Center on site at Delta. In addition, Delta will continue to receive consolidated and customized billing for its AT&T services.
"This new agreement reflects our satisfaction with AT&T's reliability, quality and innovative technology," said Ron Eubanks, Delta Air Lines' director of information technologies support services. "AT&T has demonstrated just how responsive it can be to our changing business needs and demand for a highly reliable network."
"With the onset of 800 portability and 'fresh look,' Delta Air Lines could have selected any vendor," said Michael Keith, AT&T vice president for the southern United States. "We're very pleased with the strong vote of confidence we've received from Delta to continue its long-term relationship with AT&T."
