 Telecommunications Company See telecom company. . The honor follows the announcement last week in which AT&T was named by Fortune as America's Most Admired Telecommunications Company. The company, formed in November when SBC (1) (SBC Communications Inc., San Antonio, TX, www.sbc.com) A large, national telecommunications company that grew from a multitude of local and regional companies, including Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell, into a single, unified brand by 2002.  Communications acquired AT&T and adopted the AT&T name, has garnered the No. 1 spot on the world's and America's lists more than any other telecom company since the rankings were first published.
