AT&T today announced that it has launched an Olympics sweepstakes with a prize that's every bit as good as a gold medal - the chance to attend the Olympic Winter Games wherever they may be held for the rest of the winner's life.

Television viewers may have noticed AT&T's "AT&T Perform Without Limits" commercials that began airing last month. The spot, which graphically depicts a team of AT&T globes traversing a bobsled run, describes in voice-over how AT&T will award one lucky customer this valuable prize - a lifetime of trips to cheer on the U.S. Olympic team.

Each night for 16 consecutive days, during NBC-TV's prime time Olympic broadcast, a lucky finalist's name will be announced. The first finalist, to be announced tonight during the Olympics' opening ceremonies, will win a trip to the closing ceremonies in Salt Lake City on February 24. Finalists announced on the following nights will win one of 15 secondary prizes, which include a year of AT&T WorldNet* Service with a fully equipped personal computer, an AT&T Free2Go Wireless phone package and gifts from McDonalds, Home Depot, Gateway Computer, Kodak, Office Depot and more.

Those 16 finalists will automatically be entered to win the grand prize, which will be announced February 24 during NBC's coverage of the closing ceremonies. The grand-prize winner will receive a lifetime of 6-day/5-night trips for two to the Olympic Winter Games. The prize includes round-trip coach air transportation to the host city, hotel accommodations and tickets to three Olympic Winter Games events.
