AT&T GIVES NON-PROFITS LOWER TELECONFERENCE RATES.

"AT&T wants to support groups that support the home- bound," said Carol Passavant, general manager of AT&T TeleConference Service. "Often these groups are the only connection to the community that the ill, elderly and disabled have.

"AT&T wants to help strengthen these important ties within communities," said Passavant.

Under the program, qualifying non-profit organizations who conduct programs, such as concerts, lectures and religious services, over the telephone for home-bound individuals will pay only 31 cents a minute per connection for AT&T operator-dialed conference calls from 3 p.m. to 8 a.m. local time, Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. AT&T also is waiving the set-up charge of $4 per connection.

With operator-dialed service, an AT&T TeleConference specialist calls program participants and adds them to the call, so participants just have to pick up the phone when it rings.

To be eligible for this offer, a non-profit organization must provide AT&T with a copy of the 501c3 document it has on file with the federal government verifying ver·i·fy
