Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2001

AT&T Broadband Greater Chicago Market has successfully migrated customers to its new AT&T Broadband Internet See broadband.  (ATTBI ATTBI AT&T Broadband Internet ) service. The migrations, which began this morning, mean that virtually all of AT&T's customers, formerly served by @Home, now can connect to the new ATTBI service by logging on to their computers and pulling down the new configuration. AT&T will continually monitor the system to make sure that all customers have access to the new network.

This follows on the heels of the successful national migration of about 500,000 cable Internet Internet access via the cable companies. There are two kinds of service. One uses a cable modem to connect to a computer, and the other uses an enhanced cable box that provides Internet access directly at the TV.  customers to AT&T's new high speed Internet network as of Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, less than 60 hours after the At Home Corporation shut off service for more than 850,000 AT&T customers.

"Our Chicago team has done an exceptional job in bringing on line the new AT&T network," said Patricia Andrews-Keenan, vice president of communications. "Comments coming in (via e-mail) from our customers give solid support for the swiftness with which we brought the new network on line."

While the network is active, customers still need to log on and configure See configuration.

The company will automatically issue credits to any customers who experience an interruption of service. Credits will be issued at the rate of two days credit for every day of service interruption.

All affected customers will see these changes as part of their new service:

AT&T Broadband cable and local telephone service aren't being affected by these developments.

"Having our own network is significant in that AT&T will have control over both the quality and consistency of the new network, a direct benefit to our customers," continued Andrews-Keenan. "Additionally, our partnership with WorldNet means our customers have access to an award winning content provider at the exceptional speed offered with cable modems cable modem
