AT&T Broadband And VH1 Save the Music Team Up To Support Music Education in Chicago Sunday, June 3 At Orchestra Hall At 3:00 p.m.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 31, 2001

AT&T Broadband, in partnership with VH1 Save The Music Foundation, will participate in the 38th Annual Chicago Public Schools Chicago Public Schools, commonly abbreviated as CPS by local residents and politicians, is a school district that controls over 600 public elementary and high schools in Chicago, Illinois.  `All City Concert' at Orchestra Hall There are several buildings named Orchestra Hall:
  • Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Illinois
  • Orchestra Hall in Detroit, Michigan
  • Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota
, 220 South Michigan Avenue on Sunday, June 3, at 3:00 P.M. The concert will feature the All-City High School and Elementary School elementary school: see school.  Bands, Chorus, Jazz Bands, Orchestras and Youth Chorus. Chicago is one of 45 cities across the nation that will be targeted by VH1 Save The Music this year.

VH1 Save The Music and AT&T Broadband's participation in this event is part of an ongoing commitment to restore music education programs in cities across America and raise awareness of the importance of music participation for our nation's youth. AT&T Broadband and VH1 Save The Music have restored instrumental music programs in 19 Chicago Public Schools since 1998. Since VH1 Save The Music was created in 1997, more than $17 million worth of musical instruments has been donated to 750 public schools in 43 cities, improving the lives of more than 250,000 children. The ten-year goal is to bring music participation to one million kids.
