The anywhere, anytime services announced today are: -- A ready-to-go cellular service for consumers that includes an AT&T Portable Cellular Telephone 3810 and the first 30 minutes of airtime usage in the $29.99 monthly fee in many markets. Consumers will also receive a bonus of free evening and weekend airtime for three months. Those who choose AT&T for their cellular long-distance and home long-distance service can receive a 25 percent discount on all AT&T cellular long-distance calls, pending tariff effectiveness. The phone will be priced at $1 in most markets, and service activation fees will vary by geographic area. This new cellular service will be available for consumers Sept. 18. -- A flexible cellular service for businesses that includes either an AT&T Portable Cellular Telephone 3810 or an AT&T 6650 digital cellular phone, as well as a travel pack that includes a battery saver, spare battery, and charger. Available in many markets on Sept. 18, the cellular service offers specific pricing plans, designed especially for business users, that vary by location and calling volumes. In addition, businesses that choose an AT&T long-distance calling plan are eligible for discounts up to 39 percent, and sub-minute billing on their AT&T cellular long-distance calls. Activation fees vary by location. -- An enhanced paging service available Aug. 28 for consumers and businesses across the country. This new service gives customers with AT&T long-distance service an AT&T local numeric pager, and the first month of service free for a monthly lease fee of $12.95. Consumers will receive unlimited local messages, and businesses will receive 200 free messages each month with additional messages 15 cents each. Pager activation fees are waived for consumers and will vary by location for businesses. For an additional fee, AT&T also offers advanced paging capabilities including alpha-numeric and nationwide paging.
