AT&T, American Express join iMALL to create multi-faceted Internet destination.

PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 1997--

iMALL expands Website from large, successful online shopping mall to full-service electronic commerce site with shopping, travel, financial, career and knowledge centers; and there's more to come; chairman says full-service destinations, such as iMALL's, represent the economic future of Internet commerce

A greatly expanded Internet site providing a broad range of consumer services -- from a new AT&T high-end discount store to career and knowledge centers, an American Express travel center, Internet Yellow Pages and the Internet's oldest and largest internally-managed shopping mall -- was formally unveiled today by iMALL, Inc. (OTC-BB: IIML IIML - Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow
IIML - Integrated Information Management Laboratory
), a leading Internet commerce and education company specializing in consumer and business services domestically and internationally.

Entertainment, sports, business and other centers and services are scheduled to be added to the site (www.imall.com) in the coming months.

The site represents a major expansion of iMALL, Inc.'s Website from what has been predominantly an online shopping mall to a full-service, multi-faceted "Internet destination" providing users with "what you want from the web," the company's new registered trademark.

Founded in October 1994 and now with approximately 1,500 merchants and more than 12 million hits per month, the iMALL is believed to be the worlds oldest and largest internally-managed Internet mall. A new feature, a gift shop, has been added to the Marketplace Center, the shopping area within the site, allowing users to order gifts for others without having to search through the entire database of merchants and products.

iMALL chief executive Tracy Scott said the company believes the new site will attract millions of additional visitors a year and will "contribute significantly to revenues and profits from advertising, fee-oriented transactions and additional revenue-generating features in 1997 and beyond."

In discussing the renovated and expanded site, Scott said that "in concept a destination site is a place where people go to accomplish more than one thing or to end their journey," adding that as the Internet continues to expand in size and capabilities, and as people come to expect more from the Web, "Internet companies need to provide what people want."

He said the reconceptualized and redesigned site places the company "in a strategic position to meet the various needs and expectations of individuals and to provide them with a beginning as well as an end to their journey on the Internet."

He said the site's new content is based on research that shows what people want most from the Web are goods and services, career assistance, financial and investment information, travel and leisure services, research assistance, business services and entertainment-related content and services. He said "iMALL is now uniquely positioned to satisfy those wants."

iMALL chairman Craig Pickering said the new non-subscription, full service site with a broad range of content is "really what the economic future of Internet commerce is ultimately all about." With Internet access fees dropping "to the point where users will one day be able to get to the Internet for only pennies," he said, "destination sites with broad, diversified content that can be accessed at no cost once a user is on the Internet will be the places to go for basically all of a consumers needs. He or she can shop, conduct research, plan vacations, conduct securities transactions, be entertained -- all without leaving the site."

He said the expansion of the company's site is "an important first step to position iMALL for leadership in this new emerging Internet economy."

Among other services, the new iMALL/American Express Travel Center offers viewers vacation and trip planning, reservations, online fares, secure online ticket ordering, free express ticket delivery, the privileges of the American Express Global Agency Network, assistance for flight confirmations, itinerary changes and ticket exchanges.

The new AT&T Market Square Deals area, planned to debut within a month, is a venture between iMALL, Inc. and AT&T Worldnet Services, designed to give consumers fast, secure and easy access to brand-name merchandise at significantly reduced prices.

iMALL executive vice president Richard Rosenblatt, who represented iMALL in the discussions with AT&T, said the new site can be characterized as a "high end outlet store" that will supplement iMALL's already successful Deals-of-the-Day site. The site will include merchants currently on AT&T's Market Square and on iMALL's Marketplace Center as well as merchants exclusive to the new site.

The Knowledge Center includes libraries, a Miriam Webster dictionary, thesaurus, a language translator, geographical information, an Internet directory, postal and shipping instructions, an e-mail discussion group, an AT&T toll-free directory, telephone directories for all cities in the United States and a "Breakroom" for weary Internet travelers where they can view Seinfeld video clips, Letterman's Top Ten List and peruse a movie data base at their leisure.

The new iMALL Career Center provides visitors with an opportunity to search for jobs, post resumes and receive professional advice on a variety of subjects including relocation, education, job improvement and special needs.

The new iMALL Financial Center will soon be expanding to include online stock trading and current news/analysis of reporting companies. Highlighted will be direct public offerings allowing investors the opportunity to invest in emerging growth companies, and video presentations over the Internet of companies featured in the financial center. These exclusive features will be offered in addition to current resources such as stock quotations, company profiles and educational content. Soon visitors to the iMALL Financial Center will be able to invest in stocks and bonds, purchase insurance, secure a home loan or take a company public.

The sites newly designed Marketplace Center, the shopping area within the site, includes many prominent businesses, such as Hanes Hosiery; Sybervision; Checkers, Kragen and Schuck's auto supply stores; Big Dog Sporting Goods; the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the various Circus Circus owned-and-operated hotels and resorts.

As in the past, visitors to the iMALL site will be able to check out Internet Yellow Pages on a state-by-state basis as well as reference more than 6,000 classified advertisements.

Scott said the "unique iMALL architecture was designed to make shopping and purchasing convenient and secure, and to encourage the user to experience all that iMALL has to offer."

He said the site was expanded to give people more reasons to come to the site. "We believe," he said, "that the new design and features will draw people to iMALL for more than just shopping. The new site has been designed to help revolutionize the way people acquire knowledge and information and conduct transactions. And we believe that many of those who visit the site for reasons other than shopping will enter the Marketplace Center to see what it looks like and to browse for awhile. We expect the additional traffic to prove of considerable benefit to our merchants."

Over the past two years, iMALL, Inc. has become the leading company engaged in commerce-enabled hosting and in providing Internet solutions for businesses, domestic and international, a service that spans a variety of areas such as Internet education, Web site design, successful selling and marketing on the Web and Web site development. The company plans to expand the scope of its educational and training services this year to include advising businesses on how to use the Internet to do business successfully with other businesses.
