Award submissions were evaluated using the following criteria: return on investment, alignment with corporate business strategy, scope of SAP product usage, usage of best practices and improved service to internal/external customers.

"The Impact Award recognizes members who have successfully executed an SAP implementation that have made a significant contribution to the company's bottom line," said Mike Perroni of Halliburton, ASUG President. The 2006 winners of the ASUG Impact Award are:

The Financial Service Center and Enterprise Solutions Group,
shared service groups within Northrop Grumman Corporation, a $32
billion global defense enterprise, developed OneSource, a shared
system using SAP and PeopleSoft HR. The system integrates common
business practices including finance, human resources, and payroll
into a single system and reduces cross-system duplication.
Following implementation, three major units now share a common ERP
    and process environment.

Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., a global leader in semiconductor
manufacturing, implemented a global SAP installation, integrating
its Corporate Finance Management (CFM), Supplier Relationship
Management (SRM), Catalog Content Management (CCM), Human Capital
Management (mySAP(TM) HCM) systems into one standard SAP(R) R/3(R)
    system.

Integrated Financial and Materiel System (IFMS), created in 1996
by the Government of Canada to promote the standardization of SAP
implementations, supported fifteen federal government departments
with independent SAP implementations. Standardization and
centralization of accounting and logistics processes has resulted
in $87 million in cost avoidance from 1999-2003. The IFMS Program
Office is also an SAP centre of excellence within the Government
    of Canada.

The City of Tacoma, Wash., became the first city in the world to
perform an SAP implementation and go live with the SAP(R) R/3(R)
Enterprise 4.7 and the SAP Utilities/Customer Care System Version
4.71 at the same time. These SAP systems have replaced 102 legacy
systems and numerous manual processes, saving the city money in
licensing, upgrades and maintenance of these systems. The 18-month
project was completed and went live at the end of 2003.

Winners of the award receive two free registrations to the 2006 ASUG Annual Conference, a feature story in the 2006 ASUG Impact Award Special Report, and acknowledgement during the keynote keynote /key·note/ (ke´not) in homeopathy, the characteristic property of a drug that indicates its use in treating a similar symptom of disease.  presentation of the conference (which will draw more than 7,000 people).
