 ASTROTECH INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION
EXPECTS RECORD REVENUES AND INCOME FOR FISCAL 1992
NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- S. Kent Rockwell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Astrotech International Corporation (AMEX: AIX), addressing a meeting of Security Analysts at the American Stock Exchange said that the Company expects net income to reach record levels for the fourth quarter and the fiscal year ended September 30, 1992.
Mr. Rockwell estimates that revenues for the full year ended September 30, 1992, will be approximately $51 million, up from last year's revenues of $41.5 million. He expects net income for the year to be around $3.5 million which is up from the Company's fiscal 1991 net income of $2,268,000.
For the three months ended September 30, 1992, Mr. Rockwell indicated that net income should approximate $750,000 as compared to $682,000 for the fourth quarter of 1991, on revenues of approximately $12 million as compared to $13.1 million for the same period a year ago. Final results are expected to be announced in mid-December.
Mr. Rockwell said that "we continue to quote on good volumes of environmental repair work for the petroleum industry despite the slowdown in environmental spending by the industry in 1992. We anticipate this work to be released in the 1993 calendar year which should result in continued increases in both revenues and profits for Astrotech in the coming fiscal year."
Astrotech is a leading supplier of proprietary products and services for the inspection, maintenance and repair of large aboveground storage tanks located primarily at petroleum and petrochemical terminals, refineries and pipeline facilities. These services and products enable its customers to comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations and to improve operating efficiencies.
Astrotech's common stock, $1.20 cumulative convertible preferred stock and warrants currently trade on the American Stock Exchange under the symbols AIX, AIXpf and AIXws, respectively. On October 31, 1992, each share of preferred stock will automatically be converted into 4.7 shares of common stock.
