ASTRA to provide broadband connectivity to EuroSkyPark.INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS SES ASTRA, an SES company (Paris:SESG SESG Systems Engineering Steering Group SESG Software Engineering Support Group SESG System Engineering Sub-Group )(LuxX:SESG) today announced an agreement which will see it providing broadband connectivity to EuroSkyPark, an operator of mobile and fixed satellite communication solutions, which will allow EuroSkyPark to offer a low-cost and bi-directional satellite communication service to the energy, transport, and security markets. The company said that the service on offer from EuroSkyPark will allow these businesses to implement so-called SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) A process control application that collects data from sensors and machines on the shop floor or in remote locations and sends them to a central computer for management and control. Customers from the industrial market using the new ASTRA2Connect-based service for SCADA applications are provided with an enhanced satellite dish resistant to wind load, anti-tampering and severe environmental conditions as well as specific technical support.
