ASTM course on corrosion testing scheduled for the fall.


A two-day training course on "Corrosion Testing: Application and Use of Salt Fog, Humidity, Cyclic, and Gas Tests" will be offered by ASTM International ASTM International (ASTM) is an international standards developing organization that develops and publishes voluntary technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.  on September 29-30 at the ASTM International headquarters in West Conshohocken, PA, and November 3-4 in Chicago, IL

 course will provide a clear understanding of the proper application of ASTM B117 and will furnish information regarding corrosion testing in general.

Course participants will learn how to properly operate salt fog apparatus; the "whys and hows" of corrosion testing; and gain hands-on experience. Demonstrations will also he given on mixing solutions, cleaning coupons and samples, evaluation of results and samples, and B117 corrosion test equipment.

All attendees will receive copies of ASTM B117 and ASTM D1193, Standard Specification for Reagent reagent /re·a·gent/ (re-a´jent) a substance used to produce a chemical reaction so as to detect, measure, produce, etc., other substances.
