 WESTBORO, Mass., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Applix Inc. today announced that its Aster-x workshop productivity software has been named SCO Open Desktop Product of the Year for 1992.
 Aster-x won the award in the business application category. Developers from more than 60 competing hardware and software vendors submitted a detailed product entry form and finalists were chosen after an in-depth product evaluation by an independent panel of judges.
 Aster-x was chosen over Rapport from Clarity and Call Center from Unifi Communication. Criteria of judging included use of SCO Open Desktop integrated services, innovative features, market position, pricing, system requirements and a detailed product demonstration.
