ASTEA International appoints Michael Vail as vice president of sales, North America.

Vail, 42, has more than 14 years of sales experience in high technology industries, including the past five years at Astea where he was most recently vice president, Central Region Sales. Vail will oversee Astea's domestic sales initiatives and report directly to Zack B. Bergreen, Astea's president and chief executive officer. He succeeds Harry Rich, who has resigned due to serious health reasons. Rich will continue to work with Astea as a consultant on business development, corporate strategy and strategic sales initiatives.
