 -- ASTAR Air Cargo ASTAR Air Cargo is an American cargo airline based in Miami, Florida, USA. It operates regularly secheduled cargo charter services to over 34 US airports and nine international airports, as well as worldwide charter freight services.  Flight Operations announced the selection of Captain (Ret.) James J. Herrin as Director -- Flight Standards and Training. Captain Herrin joined ASTAR in January as Manager of Flight Safety and has served on several key projects, including the Safety and Flight Standards Committees.

"The Safety Department benefited from Jay's maturity and innovative ideas," said Landon Harman, Director of Safety. "We look forward to working with Jay as he assumes his new role in Training and Standards."

Jay will report to Major General Ted Mallory, Senior Vice President, Flight Operations and Chief Safety/Security Officer.

"We are fortunate to have such an experienced, well-respected person to head up Training and Standards," said Mallory. "I have full confidence that Jay will move these important departments to new levels."
