AST showcases P6 technology at work in demonstration at NetWorld+Interop; Design boasts higher reliability and performance at lower cost.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 1995--AST Computer will be one of the first in the industry to spotlight P6 technology "at work" in an AST (AST Computer, Irvine, CA) A PC manufacturer founded in 1980 by Albert Wong, Safi Quershey and Tom Yuen (A, S and T). It offered a complete line of PCs that sold through its dealer channel.  Manhattan server demonstration at NetWorld+Interop next week.

"Using the technology innovation of today, we can achieve dramatically higher performance levels than ever before, and the built-in features that simplify design can translate to higher reliability at lower cost," said Chet Pribonic.

"This class of machine is ideal as a Lotus Notes database server, electronic mail, video, web or fax server, driving applications that are prevalent around the world as businesses go global," he added. "Look for AST to continue its commitment to its channel partners with more comprehensive solutions and progressive programs as it rolls out Manhattan servers in the new year," said Pribonic.

AST has served the reseller channel throughout its 15-year history. To make its servers easier to install, deploy and maintain, the company surrounds the products with management tools and service and support programs designed for the critical network environment.

All Manhattan servers carry a three-year, on-site warranty. In addition, AST offers the option of Guardian CareSM, a four-hour on-site server support program that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

AST also backs its servers with a telephone "hot" line, AST InfoFax and AST On-Line! bulletin board service for further technical reference. Additionally, AST operates a forum on the CompuServe online service for direct communication with AST technicians and other users.
