AST Research Names Larry Levinsohn as Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources.


IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 1997--AST Research Inc. Monday announced that Larry Levinsohn has joined the company as vice president, worldwide human resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees. .

In this newly-created position, Levinsohn, 48, will be responsible for the company's global employment, compensation, benefits and training activities. He will report to S.T. Kim, AST's president and chief executive officer.

Levinsohn previously served as vice president, human resources, at Murad Inc., an El Segundo El Segundo (ĕl sēgŭn`dō), industrial city (1990 pop. 15,223), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1917. Its products include navigation and computer systems, aircraft parts, office machines, telephone apparatus, and , Calif.-based manufacturer of specialty skin care products. His computer industry experience includes a two-year position at Packard Bell See Packard Bell NEC.  Electronics, where he served in a similar senior executive HR capacity.
