 will fall under the scrutiny of Biggs, who is leaving after more than 32 years with the Glendale Fire Department.

``It is a lot different,'' said Biggs, 55, a Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  resident. ``I'm really excited about being able to go over there.''

In his new position, the retiring assistant chief will be responsible for a department created in 1936 and that has one engine and three firefighters per shift.

Frank O'Donnell Francis Joseph "Frank" O'Donnell (August 31 1911 — September 4 1952) was a Scottish professional footballer. He was the older brother of fellow footballer Hugh O'Donnell, who also played for Blackpool and Preston North End. , who oversees studio protection, said fire crews are expected to monitor large collections of candles arranged for scenes and the welding of sets.

``I'd say once a week during production times we'll have fire stand-bys just to be on the preventive side. A lot of this is fire prevention, just preventing incidents from happening,'' O'Donnell said.

Most of the sound stages at the studio were built in the 1930s and 40s.

``We're all up to code, don't get me wrong, but we're just being as cautious as we can,'' O'Donnell said.

Biggs started working at the Glendale department after serving in Vietnam.

``It's just been a pleasure to work here. I was born and raised here, and that's basically why I (came to) this department. And I never considered any other department once I got hired here,'' Biggs said.

Biggs retires from the Glendale Fire Department on Dec. 28, and he will start at Warner Bros. Studios on Jan. 3.
