ASRC Aerospace Achieves AS9100 Certification.

Demonstrates Compliance with International Aerospace Industry Standards for Quality Management

GREENBELT, Md. -- ASRC Aerospace Corporation has been certified to the AS9100 international aerospace industry standard for quality management at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The registration certificate is being presented today in a special ceremony by Shannon Craddock of Perry Johnson Registrars, the independent third-party organization which audited and certified ASRC Aerospace's compliance with the standards.

The AS9100 certification attests to the company's demonstrated systems and processes for managing the development and delivery of quality products and services for the international aerospace industry. Holders of this certification are internationally recognized as qualified suppliers to the industry and are registered in the industry's worldwide Online Aerospace Suppliers Information System (OASIS).

This AS9100 certification builds upon and updates the ISO 9001:2000 certification earned by ASRC Aerospace in 2004. Because ASRC Aerospace has been working to the higher standard for several years, the final transition to AS9100 was completed in less than seven months.

At the Kennedy Space Center, ASRC Aerospace holds the University-Affiliated Spaceport Technology Development Contract (USTDC), which has grown from an initial staff of 200 to its current staff of more than 600. Under this contract, ASRC Aerospace provides extensive research and development support as well as engineering and support services to design, develop, implement, activate and sustain the Constellation ground processing and launch infrastructure.
