"We are pleased to be able to use our experience to help families better understand the tests and what material their children need to master," said Bernstein. "Not only does the guide inform parents that their children will be tested on ratios, fractions, and geometry, for example. It offers strategies for the child on test day and activities that parents can do with their children to help reinforce these important skills. ASPIRA, the National Urban League, PENCIL and the New York City Board of Education, have enabled us to bring this important information to New York City families."

Kaplan has created nearly 100,000 copies of the guide, enough for families of every eighth-grade student in the New York City school system. They will be available for families to pick up at their children's schools on back-to-school night, November 13-14.
