) today announces the effective date of its 3-for-1 share split.

Following the approval of a 3-for-1 share split of ASML's shares at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on March 23, 2000, ASML would like to announce that the effective date for the share split will be April 17, 2000 and trading of the split shares will commence on that date.
