ASME Partners With Girl Scouts.


The next generation of women engineers is being educated today, thanks to the affiliation of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (body) American Society of Mechanical Engineers - (ASME) A group involved in CAD standardisation.  with Girl Scouts of the USA For Girl Scouts worldwide, see Girl Guide and Girl Scout.

. ASME ASME - American Society of Mechanical Engineers  and GSUSA GSUSA Girl Scouts of the United States of America  are working together to increase awareness of women's contributions to the profession, as well as to encourage girls to consider engineering as a career.

Partnership efforts have resulted in the revision of math, science, and technology-literacy requirements for the engineering-oriented "Build a Better Future" Girl Scout patch. Two pages were also created on the GSUSA "Just for Girls" Web site (www.gsusa.org/girls), which attracts more than 1.5 million hits monthly.

* The ASME "Mothers of Invention" page features six women who have made engineering contributions since 1715. (Click on "Girls ask WHY" and scroll down to "Science Links.")

* On the Career Trails & Tales page, girls learn about current ASME-member women engineers.
