ASMC members receive college credit for the Enhanced Defense Financial Management Training Course. (Professional Development). While attending the Central Florida Lightning/Space Coast mini-PDI in Orlando, Florida, in March, I was delighted to be told by two of the attendees, Gisela Meinert and Sandra Santana, that they both received college credit for their recent successful completion of the Enhanced Defense Financial Management Training Course. In both cases the credit was applied directly toward degree requirements, one for 3 undergraduate-level credits and one for 3 graduate-level credits. This amounted to a total tuition savings of over $1700 for the DFAS Orlando colleagues. If you are participating in a degree program and have completed the Enhanced Defense Financial Management Training Course, you owe it to yourself to visit the ASMC certification Web site, print the American Council on Education's recommendation, and show it to your college registrar or dean. The decision to award the credit rests with the educational institution, but the reputation of the American Council on Education, which reviewed our course, is such that in most cases the credit is granted. It is a cost and time savings that you won't get unless you take the initiative and ask for it. Good luck--and let us know how you did. The ASMC Web site address is www.asmccertification.com. |
