ASKUL to Enter Medical Material Supply Business.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 25, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Major Japanese office supply distributor ASKUL announced on October 25 that it will publish the first issue of ASKUL for Medical Professionals, a mail-order catalog catalog, descriptive list, on cards or in a book, of the contents of a library. Assurbanipal's library at Nineveh was cataloged on shelves of slate. The first known subject catalog was compiled by Callimachus at the Alexandrian Library in the 3d cent. B.C.  for medical materials, and deliver medical supplies to hospitals and nursing-care facilities.

Initially, the company will undertake operations in the Hokuriku and northern Kanto areas. Accordingly, it has entered into a distributorship agreement with local medical material suppliers in the respective areas: Tomiki Medical Instruments in Ishikawa and Kuribara Medical Instruments in Gunma.

In line with this move, ASKUL has established the ASKUL Tokyo Medical Center, an exclusive distribution center for medical materials delivery. Going forward, the company will strive to increase its presence in the medical material market by leveraging its accumulated ac·cu·mu·late
