A telephone number advertised on buses I've seen, (800) 2LA-RIDE (252-7433), doesn't work for Ventura County.

Several telephone numbers are available to Simi Valley residents interested in transit information, said Ray Turpin, that city's transit administrator.

For Simi Valley bus transportation, call Simi Valley Transit at (805) 583-6456 or the Ventura County Transportation Commission at (800) 438-1112 for bus transit information for the entire county, Turpin said.

I've made several unsuccessful attempts to get a representative from the city's Department of Building and Safety to visit the location.

Can you have someone check this place out? It's got to be illegal.

- S.G., Sylmar

Sgt. Roger Gornick with the Department of Transportation's Valley Parking Enforcement Division said they checked the location and found no violations.

The property's fence was covered with materials, and it appeared the tenant moved the business from his garage and street into his back yard, Gornick said.

Gornick said a complaint can be registered with City Councilman Richard Alarcon at (818) 756-8409.

Isn't there a law that prohibits this kind of nuisance nuisance, in law, an act that, without legal justification, interferes with safety, comfort, or the use of property.
