ASIC-based tag platform.


AXCESS Inc. of Dallas has developed an Application Specific Integrated Circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  (ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." More features are available in the new platform, including smaller size, fewer components, more interfaces, and lower power consumption. Initial tag designs are targeted at corporate IT, healthcare, and data center markets.
