, USA announced it has secured a long-term supply of chlorine under a strategic partnership with ASHTA Chemicals Inc., which is building a new chlor-alkali production facility adjacent to Great Lakes' central plant in El Dorado, Arkansas El Dorado (pronounced to rhyme with 'tornado' (IPA: [εl doˈreɪdoʊ] or [εl dəˈreɪdə])) is a city in Union County, Arkansas, USA. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 20,467. . The agreement will provide Great Lakes with a long-term, steady supply of chlorine for use primarily in the production of bromine bromine (brō`mēn, –mĭn) [Gr.,=stench], volatile, liquid chemical element; symbol Br; at. no. 35; at. wt. 79.904; m.p. –7.2°C;; b.p. 58.78°C;; sp. gr. of liquid 3.12 at 20°C;; density of vapor 7.  at its three El Dorado, Arkansas facilities.
