ASC X12 Releases First Set of W3C-Compliant XML Schemas Based on CICA.

Freely downloadable and available for runtime validation, these X12 XML schemas can be found at a new X12 web page - schemas.X12.org - designed by Washington Publishing Company (WPC), the technology partner for ASC X12's secretariat Data Interchange Standards Association (standard) Data Interchange Standards Association - (DISA) A not-for-profit corporation that acts as the secretariat for ANSI's EDI standards committee, ASC X12 that works on ANSI X12.  (DISA). The available X12 XML schemas follow:

Finance

--STP (straight-through processing) Payment with Remittance enables users to pay several open account receivable items with one payment

Government

--Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV) Repair Item Receipt Notification, in the context of the U.S. Department of Defense CAV, communicates a repair contractor's receipt of an item

Insurance

--Coverage Request conveys information on requester, policy, insured entity and vehicle

--Coverage Response provides a formal response to an insurance coverage request

Transportation

--Transportation Status - General Use communicates information on requester, shipment references, interested party, status, equipment, shipping unit and entity responsible for scheduling an event
