"ASC's flexible architecture and dynamic capabilities represents the next-generation of access network equipment. Innovative service providers, like Dishnet DSL, around the globe can leverage this technology to revolutionize the delivery of broadband services to their customers," said Alex Dobson, vice president of sales at ASC.

ASC's compact A-1240 platform will aggregate data traffic from DSL access multiplexors (DSLAMs) to reduce connection costs and speed time to market. This application allows Dishnet DSL to provision bundled E1 connections instead of E3 connections and move to E3 as the level of traffic requires or as they become available. Delivering bandwidth speeds of 34 Mbps, E3 connections are either time-consuming or impossible to provision, considerably more expensive and often exceed bandwidth requirements. ASC's MultiStream technology leverages inverse multiplexing over ATM or IMA (Interactive Multimedia Association, Annapolis, MD) An earlier trade association founded in 1988 originally as the Interactive Video Industry Association. It provided an open process for adopting existing technologies and was involved in subjects such as networked services, scripting  to create bundled connections over 2 Mbps that bridge the bandwidth gap between the E1 and E3. With MultiStream's software capabilities, Dishnet DSL can add E1 connections to gradually scale bandwidth as demand grows - without interrupting service.

DishnetDSL, which is the pioneer in introducing DSL services in India, is currently rolling out the service in the metropolitan cities of Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
