ASBC awards brewing industry scholarships.The American Society of Brewing Chemists The ASBC is a professional organization of scientists and technical professionals in the brewing, malting, and allied industries. It publishes an journal, the Journal of the American Society of Brewing Chemists, usually four times a year. (ASBC ASBC American Society of Brewing Chemists (St. Paul, MN) ASBC American Small Business Coalition ASBC Air and Space Basic Course (USAF) ASBC Archaeological Society of British Columbia ) Foundation has announced the award of five graduate scholarships for the 2005-2006 school year. This year's ASBC Foundation Graduate Scholarship recipients include: Annette Fritsch, Oregon State University Oregon State University, at Corvallis; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1858 as Corvallis College, opened 1865. In 1868 it was designated Oregon's land-grant agricultural college and was taken over completely by the state in 1885. ($2,500 Ecolab Scholarship); Marco Garcia, University of California The University of California has a combined student body of more than 191,000 students, over 1,340,000 living alumni, and a combined systemwide and campus endowment of just over $7.3 billion (8th largest in the United States). at Davis ($2,500 Brian Williams Scholarship); Jeremy Roza, University of California at Davis ($2,500 Anheuser-Busch Quality Assurance Scholarship); Nancy McGregor, Technische Universitat Munchen--Weihenstephan ($1,000 Coors Scholarship) and Christopher McGregor, Technische Universitat Munchen--Weihenstephan ($1,000 Sierra-Nevada Scholarship). ASBC says its scholarships are provided to students who are pursuing degrees in areas pertinent to brewing science. The scholarships are supported by endowment funds of the ASBC Foundation, the Brian Williams Scholarship Fund, and from contributions by individuals and companies. |
