ASB Financial Services names Dawson as new president.


IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 1996--J. Pamela Dawson Dawson or Dawson City, city (1991 pop. 972), W Yukon Territory, Canada, at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike rivers. It is the trade center of the Klondike mining region and a tourist center. During the gold rush of 1898 Dawson was a boomtown, reported to have a population of about 20,000. It was named for George M. Dawson (see under Dawson, Sir John William), the Canadian geologist. has been named president of ASB ASB - Asbestos

Based in Irvine, Dawson reports directly to Craig S. Davis, executive vice president and director of Mortgage Origination and ASB subsidiaries.

Dawson joins American Savings Bank from Wells Fargo Securities Inc., Houston, from 1993-96, where she most recently was senior vice president and regional manager. In this position, she managed the retail and private client services investment sales programs in the Texas and Southwest regions.

This included managing four regional sales managers and approximately 80 financial consultants. She brings to ASBFS over 11 years of experience in the bank brokerage business.

As president of ASB Financial Services, Dawson will manage the growing force of financial consultants in American's retail branch offices throughout the state of California, expected to exceed 100 next year, a 25 percent increase from current levels.

Her primary areas of focus will be to increase overall investment sales, expand distribution to new and existing California markets, and to extend American's distribution channels to new out-of-state markets.

Dawson succeeds Randy Cicatti, who left the company in October to pursue other interests. ASB Financial Services expects to record its second-best profit year in 1996, with pre-tax earnings reaching the $13 million mark.

American Savings Bank, with more than $20 billion in assets, has 158 retail branches and 60 residential loan centers in California, as well as new loan offices in Arizona, Colorado and Nevada. ASB Financial Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of American, specializing in investment products marketed through the branches of American Savings Bank.
