The 33rd annual bell ringing competition will take place in Union Square, bordered by Powell, Sutter, Geary and Post streets. San Francisco Municipal Railway The San Francisco Municipal Railway, or Muni as it is commonly known, is the public transit system for the city and county of San Francisco, California. In 2000, it served 46.  conductor Byron Cobb will defend his world champion title against six challengers in the annual free spectacle. Amateur bell ringers will also compete for prizes, which support local nonprofit organizations.
