Pebble Beach: The Pebble Beach Garden Show will run April 12-14 at the Lodge at Pebble Beach, along the 17-mile drive in this Carmel-area community. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days. Tickets are $15 per day, or $40 for a three-day pass. Information: (408) 649-2799.

Sonoma Valley Sonoma Valley is the birthplace of the California wine industry and often called The Valley of the Moon. Sonoma Valley is home to some of the earliest vineyards and wineries in the state, some of which survived the phylloxera epidemic of the 1870s and the impact of : An old Spanish celebration of St. Jordi Day, akin to Valentine's Day, will run April 20 and 21 at the Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves. Thousand Oaks: The community's annual Conejo Valley Days runs April 20-28. A children's parade steps off at 10 a.m. April 20 along Auto Mall Drive; a chili cook-off runs April 21 at Conejo Creek Park; Conejo Valley Days Parade begins at 9 a.m. along Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Kern County: April is a busy month for the folks in Kern County.

Auto Expo '96, a two-day swap meet and antique car display, will run April 19-21 at the Kern County Fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground. . Admission is $1 per person. Information: (805) 834-6550.

The Village Artisans' Spring Faire will run April 20-21 in Bakersfield's Central Park, at 19th and R streets, in Bakersfield. More than 130 arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. Arvin will stage the 17th annual Arvin Wildflower wildflower

Any flowering plant that grows without intentional human aid. Wildflowers are the source of all cultivated garden varieties of flowers. A wildflower growing where it is unwanted is considered a weed.
