"Heightened attention is focused on China, which will undisputedly become the largest apparel production source of the world in a post-2005 trade deregulation era," said Frank Yuan, ASAP Show Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. .

The trip will be co-organized with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is an organ of the Chinese national government created in the year 1952.

This strategic sourcing initiative, planned and executed by ASAP, CCPIT and CCCT, will cover the major production areas of four prominent apparel production cities. Examples of regions and products include knits and suits in Ningbo; leather and yarn-dyes in Nanjing; wovens and outerwear in Qingdao; and denims and junior fashions in Guangzhou. Each city will allow three days featuring 150-200 carefully selected, export-ready and certified manufacturers. Buyers will also be free to arrange meetings with preferred factories on-site.

"A buying trip of this size has never been arranged by any organization before. The timing is right, and the combined purchasing power of 150 buyers will make an enormous impact to the China apparel industry. We have successfully arranged with Chinese officials to subsidize a portion of the buying trip costs so that our buyers will only pay a total of $1,800. This will include roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation, personal translators and meals," said Yuan.

The proposed dates of the ASAP China Buying Trip are June 3rd-18th, 2005.
