ASAE Goes Passkey-enabled for Orlando 2000 Meeting.

Passkey.com, Inc., announced today that when the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE) stages the world's leading educational exposition for association executives in Orlando starting this weekend, it will be the first time the landmark event is Passkey-enabled(SM).

Laurie Lowe, assistant director of meetings operations for the ASAE, said the Orlando 2000 event is expected to attract more than 6,000 attendees from throughout the U.S. to the Orange County Convention Center, August 12-15. She said it is the first time the ASAE has used Passkey to handle group housing and provide reservations services for attendees via the Internet as well through calls and faxes to a call center.

Ms. Lowe said ASAE members, including association executives and industry partners, will be on hand for the four-day program, which will include nearly 100 educational sessions, many utilizing new interactive formatting, trips to some of Florida's top attractions, networking opportunities, and introductions to hundreds of vendors whose products and services are designed to improve the efficiency of association management professionals.

"Managing group housing is a very involved process," Ms. Lowe said. "Being Passkey-enabled has been a boon to the overall effort. Whether members are phoning in reservations, faxing them in, or using the Internet, it's all gone very smoothly."

Kathy Dalby, the administrative coordinator for the Meetings Operations Department, concurred. "Passkey lets users make or modify reservations, and lets ASAE management obtain real-time reports. The bottom line," Ms. Dalby said, "is that it makes my job a lot easier, and enables us to provide quick and accurate reservations for ASAE members."

Ms. Lowe and Ms. Dalby said many ASAE attendees will arrive early in Orlando to the World Congress of Association Executives on August 12, a preeminent gathering of the global association management professions. Hosted by ASAE in collaboration with the Global Forum of Societies of Association Executives, the event offers high-level networking and learning opportunities for association executives from 20 countries.
