ASAE Foundation introduces new campaign.

 San Diego 1999, the ASAE Foundation launched its Partners for the Future Capital Campaign. The goal: Raise a minimum of $5.5 million so that the foundation can increase the pace and scope of research on the future of associations in America. Contributions, which may be pledged across a five-year period, will be placed in an endowment. This will ensure funding for the foundation's new programs of biennial environmental scanning and commissioned research.

So far, $4.46 million has been raised. Of this amount, more than $850,000 has come from associations and association executives.

The campaign is being chaired by Ted Darnall, president of North America hotel operations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., which made the lead gift of $700,000. Other lead gifts include Marriott Hotels, Resorts & Suites, $500,000; ASAE, $300,000; Hilton Hotels Corporation Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE: HLT) is one of the leading global hospitality companies. As of April 2007 there are 2,645 hotels and 485,000 rooms employing 105,000 people in more than 80 countries. , $300,000; Hyatt Hotels Corporation, $300,000; MBNA America, $300,000; and Opryland Hospitality Group, $300,000.
