ARTWORK TAKES ROOT.NATURE was re-rooted into Newcastle this week with the unveiling of a digital tree. The life-size art installation has been 'earthed' in Brunswick Place, opposite Monument in the city centre, to celebrate the launch of region-wide festival 'Design Event 2009 (DE09)'. At 10 metres high, the hi-tech projection, was unveiled last night, flickering flick·er 1 v. flick·ered, flick·er·ing, flick·ers v.intr. 1. To move waveringly; flutter: shadows flickering on the wall. 2. on a building side thanks to its creator Simon Heijdens, and has already proven unmissable to passing shoppers. DE09 director Karen Stone said: "Members of the public are encouraged to come down to see and interact with this striking unique tree projection.
