ARTWORK TAKES ROOT.


NATURE was re-rooted into Newcastle this week with the unveiling of a digital tree.

The life-size art installation has been 'earthed' in Brunswick Place, opposite Monument in the city centre, to celebrate the launch of region-wide festival 'Design Event 2009 (DE09)'.

At 10 metres high, the hi-tech projection, was unveiled last night, flickering flick·er 1

DE09 director Karen Stone said: "Members of the public are encouraged to come down to see and interact with this striking unique tree projection. This truly innovative installation reveals nature in the city and brightens the streets of Newcastle."

The festival runs from October 16 - 25.
