The 45-piece exhibition ``Capturing the Moment'' is a tribute to the late photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson Henri Cartier-Bresson (August 22, 1908 – August 3 2004) was a French photographer considered to be the father of modern photojournalism, an early adopter of 35 mm format, and the master of candid photography. as well as to the late Jimi Lott, who started his photojournalism career in 1972 at Coos Bay's The World and later worked at the Seattle Times. The museum is also showing the Oregon Coast The Oregon Coast is a geographical term that is used to describe the coast of Oregon along the Pacific Ocean. Stretching 362 miles from Astoria to the California border, the Oregon Coast is unique in that the whole coastline is public land. Ave. The exhibit, "The Long View: Eastern Oregon Landscapes by Garry Fritz," is a retrospective of Fritz's work. Fritz worked closely with the museum for years. He died in 2004. The photographs reflect Fritz's interest in the interaction of space and time. His fascination with the desert landscape led to an affinity for the panoramic format and the long view as a response to that great emptiness. Framed prints of the displayed photographs are available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the museum and the Garry B. Fritz Memorial Fund at the Oregon Community Foundation. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is $3 for adults; $2 for seniors and youths ages 18 and under; and $8 for families (two adults and up to four youths). New program director at Lane Arts Council Ben Brinkley has been appointed to the newly created position of program director at Lane Arts Council.
